Mika Johaan Fitzgerald=main character.....Fitzgeralds=family of musicians who live out of boxes wen away from home....Suzanna Stray=mika's love interest. an orphan across the street from mika's performing place...Mozart Fitzgerald=mika's brother. the best accordion player in the world. Michelangelo Sebastion Fitzgerald=the violinist father....known to display more emotion than the mother..Lucille Fitzgerald= at home mother....all of the men leave to make money, leaving her alone with the dog, Wolfgang and the littlest son Amadeus Fitzgerald...they get into alot of messes together...The only sister, Gracia lucille Fitzgerald, is a dancer/tambourine player,...she is awkward to her siblings, but the love interest of every male in the neighborhood, including Suzanna's brother Trevor(Scamp) and papas friend fred.,..the father works in a union of workers who are protesting for more...his job is the only real source of income so he cant decide whether he will continue to protest or become a scab and lose all respect from his friends protesting...this is when mika took the responsibility to work extra hard to make money.,he secretly skipped school to work to pay the bills..it was working at first, until mika got mugged by someone who later turns out to be a friend of dads desperate for money after getting laid off....in the process, mika's saxophone was destroyed...Mika had somewhere around $500 from workin and skipping school for two weeks..gone....,Mika told his father everything, and after hearing someone talk about fred hitting the jackpot he knew who did it....by the time dad got to fred he spent it on his bills, prostitutes etc....fred was drunk when he found him...resisting the urge to kill him papa took all the money from freds wallet and went home.,. papa was ready to pay the bills until he notice mika wasnt carrying around his sax like usual....mika tells him how it broke and not to worry about the sax and pay the bills..,$200 was more than enough to pay the bills and and fix the sax, but papa didnt have a job and thought about the future...$200 is 4 months of rent......Gracia decided to pay for mika's sax...apparently she had come into a large sum of money....she had $150...papa asked where she got it, she said working....everything was normal again for a while....mika went back to school, bills were paid.., papa got a new and better job....Gracie, on the other hand, was bringin alot of money in lately and everyone in the house got suspicious...they concluded that she was a drug dealer....they confronted her one day about it....she said she wasnt...a knock on the door..it was fred...he was angry about him stealing the money back..,they argued for a while and fred left empty handed....then he turned back and said " oh, and tell gracie that i hope she had as good of a time last night as i did!" ....and he left...gracie started to cry and papa was still confused....gracie told the family what he meant....she had been prostituting herself out to many men in the area.
